This is a reminder that “Take Our Kids to Work Day 2024” for Grade 9s is taking place on Wednesday November 6th. Students across Canada will have the chance to see the world of work firsthand, explore a variety of career pathways and sectors, and look at what skills are important to thrive in the world of work.
The theme for Take Our Kids to Work 2024 is “Breaking Barriers, Transforming Communities”.
As groups or individuals, all of our Grade 9 students will participate by visiting with employers in their community. Students may accompany a parent, caregiver, relative, adult ally or volunteer to their workplace to learn about their job and the organization. For those who cannot attend an in-person visit and will be staying home, there will be an all-day virtual event, led by the Students Commission of Canada, featuring live presentations, interactive sessions, and expert interviews. This event will allow students to explore various careers and ask questions in real-time. so that all learners can be empowered to make decisions about their future.
